Ryan and I have traveled to a few places, but both have never been to Hawaii. To experience it for the first time with our kids was amazing. A LOT of work, but amazing. Of course making it easier on ourselves, we wanted to stay at the Disney Aulani Resort. There are so many child activities, six days wasn’t enough to experience them all.
They have the character breakfast, Aunties House(children 3+ and potty trained), lazy river pool, water slides, paddle boarding, snorkeling, Luau’s, we even rented a jeep for the day to explore the island a little more. The employees at the hotel are so welcoming and accommodating its unreal. They live to make kids happy.
My two top activities I would recommend are the character breakfast, and Luau at the resort. At the character breakfast, Micky, Minnie and Goofy all come to your table to take pictures and hug on the kids. They have them get up and dance and sing around the restaurant. Its so cute, the boys were in heaven. We experienced two Luau’s. One at the resort and one off of the resort. If you are going with smaller children, I would recommend the Disney one, its Moana based, and there were so many smaller kid activities. They even had a tiny table two feet off the ground for them to pick out their own food. If your going with older children, I would experience the Paradise Cove Luau off the resort(Ryan’s fave). Its down the street, and its an authentic Hawaiian show and dinner.
A tip for when Ryan and I travel, if there is a market close, get waters and snacks! Its so much cheaper and easier to have the necessities in your room. Also, if your going somewhere tropical, pack water shoes. There were so many kids running and slipping. The boys had water shoes and we never had a problem.
Hawaii is more beautiful than the pictures you see. I loved every second with my family and would go back! My all time favorite part, was just lounging and swimming at the pool. We went down the water slide multiple times and got in the hot tub 50+ times per Jensen’s request. Comment your favorite part about Hawaii if you’ve ever been! I want to know!!!
