This is a side note that I think all moms and women should hear. Having babies is the ultimate sacrifice and dream. Its important to take care of ourselves mentally and physically. If you did get stretch marks, you should wear them proud. No one should ever feel like they should cover up. Be confident with who YOU are on the inside and out! One thing my mom taught me by her actions, is how she carried herself. She wore a two piece when I was younger and I never once heard her say she didn’t like her stretch marks. I never fully understood that whole concept until I had children of my own. Beauty is who you are on the inside. So shine bright and stay golden. With that being said, I’ve had a few people ask me what I used lotion wise when I was pregnant, so I thought I would do a blog post about it!
When I was pregnant with the twins, I for sure thought I was going to get stretch marks. Personally, I think its genetics and how you take care of yourself. I was totally okay with it, considering my mom got stretch marks with us and is a TOTAL BABE. I was carrying two babies so it felt inevitable.
I still wanted to take care of myself as best I could. I used three products, one, that you will most likely be surprised about. I lathered like crazy twice a day(AM & PM). I still do scrubs and lotions on my belly and all over my body. I love the feeling of it!
I used the C E Ferulic from Skin Ceuticals in the Am. Yes, its for your face, but back then, I thought if its good enough for my face it can be good for my belly. Its an antioxidant vitamin C serum that protects, improves and brightens your skin. Its Pricey for sure, but SO worth it. It has amazing results, benefits and is so good for the skin. You can get it online, or if your from Bakersfield at Essentiels Spa.
The final two products, are cheap, and I’d say pretty generic and old school. Haha! Palmers Cocoa butter/lotion and Palmers Skin therapy gel oil. I love the feeling of an oil and lotion mixed together. I have very dry skin. So I feel, the more the merrier. I’ve linked all products below, so feel free to check them out!
If you haven’t purchased from Bed Bath & Beyond online, they offer 20% off coupon, so if you wanted to try the Palmers, they would be so cheap!
